On Oct. 23, the LU Free the Children club held their first fundraiser event, Drive for Change.
During the event, which was held in the NOSM parking lot, Laurentian students were given the opportunity to test drive brand new Ford vehicles – for each student who participated, Ford donated $20 to the club.
“(The) event was a very successful, even though (I) was nervous (about) how it would turn out,” said Ra’anna Brown, club member.
Brown also noted that the club will be donating all of the money raised at the event to families living in poverty, and people who are in need.
Marlene Ducharme, a representative from Ford, said “the event went well,” with around 65 attendees who test drove vehicles.
Ducharme also noted that Ford “does plan” on participating in the fundraiser again next year.
