After a Northern Ontario School of Medicine Board meeting on March 18, 2015, a five-year Strategic Plan has been approved for the school of Medicine.
The plan, which spans from 2015-2020, was overseen by a 28-member Strategic Planning Advisory Committee, according to a media release issued by NOSM on March 19.
The Strategic Plan was crafted during 2014, during which time NOSM’s CEO and dean, Dr. Roger Strasser, visited more than 50 northern, rural, remote, Francophone and Aboriginal communities to meet with individuals from various networks and companies in order to discuss NOSM’s health-related needs.
“With the new NOSM Strategic Plan, we aim to continue to work with Northern Ontarians to reach beyond extraordinary together,” said NOSM in an April 14, 2014, Facebook post.
The Board Meeting was held using a combination of web and tele-conference connectivity, and comes as the follow-up to the 2010-2015 strategic plan.
The plan will officially launch in Sept. of this year, which also marks NOSM’s 10-year anniversary.
