The Voyageur’s men’s hockey team advanced to the playoff games this season, competing in game three of the OUA East quarterfinals.

The game, which was a best of 3 game series, took place this Feb. 15 at the Countryside arena, where the Voyageurs team lost 2-1 in overtime to their competitors the Queen Gaels.

Dylan Fitze, number 13 on the men’s team, tweeted shortly after the game, “Thank you to the fans, and everyone who invested time into this amazing season with (Voyageur’s men’s hockey), the support was unbelievable…The year ended earlier than we wanted but the boys are looking forward to getting ready to make even more noise next (year).”

The 2014-15 season’s end found the men’s team standing fourth in the OUA Men’s Hockey East Conference, placed below McGill, Carleton and UQTR, respectively. The team ended the season with a total of 31 points overall, and a record of 14 – 9 – 3.
