Residence Life holds ball hockey tournament for students

By Gabriel Rodrigues

Laurentian University’s Residence Life staff held a their second annual ball hockey tournament at the tennis courts on Sept. 20 to 22 in support of Easter Seals.

“We thought it would be pretty cool to bring in a street hockey tournament,” said Ryan Hicks, program coodinator.

In the last two years, Hicks and Trevor Rostron, a residence assistant, helped raise roughly $2,000 for Eatser Seals.

Hicks said the idea of the event is to keep students involved while having a little bit of fun as well.

“When students come out of Highschool, you’re either playing varsity sports or no sports at all,” he said. “So this keeps a fun and competitive atmosphere, while you’re giving back.”
