Marianne Matichuk is officially the new mayor of the City of Greater Sudbury.
Matichuk was sworn in last night in an inauguration ceremony at Tom Davies Square. In her inaugural address, she focused on making City Council more transparent and efficient and putting city dollars to better use. She also said her first 100 days in office will be spent on fulfilling election promises such as removing the city-imposed cap on store hours.
Matichuk and the new City Council will be in office until 2014.
